Unfog Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026
Who we are
Unfog ("the app", "we") is published by Gaetan Callari. Questions about this policy go to support@unfog.net.
The short version
- The app works without an account. Everything you enter stays on your phone until you choose to sign in.
- If you create an account, your quit profile and craving history are stored on our server so you can get them back on a new phone.
- We never see your location. We do not run ads. We do not sell data.
- You can delete your account and its data at any time, in the app or by email.
Without an account
You can use Unfog without signing in. In that case everything you enter is stored only on your phone:
- your quit date and time zone
- how much weed you used per day and what it cost
- whether your goal is to quit or to cut back
- your reasons for quitting
- each craving you log, and what happened during each guided craving round
- daily check-ins and the plans you save
- settings and reminder times
Nothing in this list is sent to us. Uninstalling the app removes it.
With an account
You can create an account with your email address, using either a password or a one-time code sent to that address. We do not offer sign-in through Google or any other provider.
When you are signed in, the app copies the following to our server, so it can be restored on another phone and so that each signed-in device sees the same history:
| what | includes |
|---|---|
| your account | email address, and the password in hashed form if you set one |
| your profile | quit date, time zone, how much weed you used per day and what it cost, your goal, your answers to the dependence questions |
| your settings | reminder times, display choices, and the counters the app keeps about itself |
| your craving sessions | when each craving started and ended, how strong it was, what triggered it, where you were and who was with you as you told us, the mood you picked, what you did about it and how it went |
| your craving log | each craving you logged by hand, its strength, trigger, whether you resisted, and any note you wrote |
| your program and plans | which program sessions you have completed, your daily check-ins, the coping plans you save, your reflections, and your savings goals |
Where you were comes from your own answer in the app. The app does not read your phone's location.
The server is hosted by Supabase. Each row is readable only by the account that wrote it. We do not read your history to contact you, and nobody outside the people who run the app can see it.
Purchases
Unfog Pro is sold through Google Play as a subscription or a one-time purchase. Google Play handles payment and holds your payment details. We never see your card.
To check that a purchase is valid, our server receives from Google Play the purchase token, the order number, the product, the price paid, and the dates it started and ends. We keep that record together with an identifier for the phone that made the purchase, so the phone keeps Pro even if you never sign in or you sign out later. If you are signed in, the record is linked to your account.
Reminders
Reminders are scheduled on your phone by the app. They do not go through a notification server and we do not hold a push token for your device.
What we do not do
- We do not read your location.
- We do not run ads or any advertising identifier.
- We do not use analytics that profile you.
- We do not sell, rent or share your data.
- We do not send your history to any third party. The only outside parties that touch any of it are Supabase, which hosts the server, Resend, which sends the sign-in emails, and Google Play, which handles payments.
Server logs
Our server keeps short-lived request logs for keeping the service running. They can include your IP address and are not kept beyond a short operational window. They never contain passwords, sign-in links or your history.
How long we keep things
- Your account and everything synced to it: until you delete the account.
- Purchase records: kept after deletion, with your account removed from them, because tax and accounting law requires transaction records to be retained. They contain no personal details once the account is gone.
- Sign-in emails: sent and not stored.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app, under Settings, or by emailing support@unfog.net from the address you signed up with. Full instructions are at https://unfog.net/delete-account/.
Deleting the account erases your email address, your profile, your settings and your whole craving history from the server. The copy on your phone is untouched, so your streak is not lost. The purchase record stays, as described above, with the phone identifier on it so that phone keeps the Pro it paid for. If you want that identifier removed too, say so in your email, and that phone loses Pro.
Children
Unfog is for adults who want to stop using weed. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the data we hold about you, correct it, get a copy, or have it deleted. Email support@unfog.net and we will answer within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we update the date at the top and tell you in the app before the change applies.
